DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
We purchased this Mid-Century home a little over a year ago, knowing we had a large project ahead of us. We had worked with Scott C Temple Builders on a prior remodel and their quality of work exceeded our expectations. We wanted to incorporate the original stonework, front door and slate flooring to preserve the unique and character-rich elements and choose new materials to compliment and maintain the clean Mid-Century design. We focused on the large spaces and beautiful windows to create a bright and airy living environment and went with shades of white and charcoal for interior and exterior, using pops of color for accents. All rooms have new flooring, trim, doors, and paint.

The kitchen is very open and casual with sleek, flat-front cabinetry, solid white quartz countertops with a thicker edge, and a white backsplash that was done in an abstract pattern. I searched for unique materials that aren’t commonly used to create a one-of-a-kind space.

The area that is open to the kitchen is our cozy lounge area, great for entertaining. We added floating cabinets and shelving for a clean look and have four oversized swivel chairs for comfortable seating.

Combined living/dining rooms are spacious with large windows, giving a true connection between the indoors and outdoors. We did update the fireplace to electric.

Sliding glass doors and a big closet was added to our office.

The primary suite had a closet that divided the room, so we had that removed and added a huge walk-in closet. The bathroom was dark, with no windows, so we installed a window in the curbless shower and went with a large neutral tile to pull in natural light. We chose a natural tone for the vanity to incorporate a spa-like retreat.

We couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
